We believe that following what Jesus said about the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will produce a great church for Christ.
The Great Commandment - Matthew 22:36-40
(36) Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
(37) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
(38) This is the first and great commandment.
(39) And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
(40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The Great commission - Matthew 28:19-20
(19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
(20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
From the first Great Commandment we take, loving God with all your heart, as worship. We then take, loving your neighbor as yourself, as ministry.
From the Great Commission, go and make disciples, is evangelism. Baptizing them incorporates them into fellowship and teaching them all things is discipleship.
So we exist for five reasons:
- To celebrate God’s presence through worship
- To demonstrate God’s love through ministry
- To communicate God’s words by evangelism
- To incorporate God’s people into his family by fellowship
- To educate God’s people through discipleship
We want to build God’s people in the Holy Faith of our Lord Jesus by meeting the needs of people with the love of Christ.
