our story

Assembly of Prayer believes in restoration, and that all things can be made new! In 2012, we freed ourselves from renting costs and purchased an 11,800 sq.ft. automotive warehouse. With hearts full of passion, our leadership and congregation members began our journey of renovating and converting this space into a wonderful place of worship where all could feel welcome.

Converting an industrial site into a church is a very expensive project. Presently, we have gutted the area, leveled our floors, supported our ceilings with I-Beams, and framed cut outs for heating, ventilation, air conditioning units, windows and doors. A majority of these projects were completed by our members volunteering their time, along with our Pastor who is a professional contractor. The purest form of unity is when people can come together with one heart and one mind. Together we will build for the greater work of God.

Purchasing a finished space would have been ideal, but unfortunately this option was out of our budget. It has not been an easy road with changes in city laws, which has affected our original timeline. Nevertheless, we are determined to overcome each and every obstacle that comes our way. Since our resources have been exhausted, we are now seeking the help of our friends, family and community members. What is given to us will be utilized 100%, and given back in the form of love and acceptance to all who enter our doors.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

The purpose of this campaign is to quickly raise funds to complete the renovations necessary to resume our operations. This building will be used to continue our mission of welcoming people into God’s family, helping them find hope, and inspiring them to live like Jesus Christ. Our goal is to provide a home-felt environment for individuals from all walks of life.

While this building enables us to expand our operations, it requires extensive renovations before it can be utilized as a church. With the building currently in an unfinished state, we have had to suspend some of our activities. Our programs designed for families with children and young adults have been put on hold. While we were able to start the renovations with the financial and voluntary help of our members, we have exhausted our resources and are unable to continue without your financial support.
